Crazy Week

Looks like I won't be writing much this week. Our new Sunday School year at church begins Sunday, Jared starts school, Jacob starts next week so it looks like I will be taking a little break. So all (maybe) 5 of you who read this-don't forget about me! I really enjoy hearing from my blogger friends!

Thankful Thursday

My husband...what can I say? He is ALWAYS:

thoughtful
putting others first
working way too hard
loving God and family
helping me around the house
doing things with the kids
finding ways to keep the romance in our marriage

Today he brought me home a surprise. He brought me a beautiful wrap dress! I was very shocked and can't wait to try it on (thanks sweetie for thinking I am a size smaller!) I love him more today than the day I married him. Thank you David for being my best friend and soul mate.

Motivation Monday

"Thank God, O woman, for the quietude of your home, and that you are queen in it. Men come at eventide to the home; but all day long you are there beautifying it, sanctifying it, adorning it, blessing it. Better be there than wear a queen's coronet. Better be there than carry the purse of a princess. It may be a very humble home. There may be no carpet on the floor. There may be no pictures on the wall. There may be no silks in the wardrobe; but, by your faith in God, and your cheerful demeanor, you may garnish that place with more splendor than the upholsterer's hand ever kindled." (T. De Witt Talmage)

I got this off another blog but don't know how to put the link here-I'm still learning!

I guess I can't consider myself a SAHM because I do work 30 hours a week at my church but I so love this this quote. It still applies to ALL Moms. Have you ever heard "the woman is the thermostat of the home"? Boy, is that true. Be encouraged today....you are important.

New Blog Title

I have been wanting to start a blog that is more of a daily life blog. Instead of starting another one I just changed the name of this one. I am still going to take the May Challenge and work on weight loss but I want to write more about my daily life! That is a little more exciting. After all....there's no place like home!
Hope you stop by often.

Weigh Too Much Fun

Last week David and I had a fantastic 3 nights and 2 days in SanDestin. Jacob was at camp, Jared and Jenna stayed with NaNa and PaPa. We love Destin and I really wanted to take David for his 40th birthday. This is a picture of the Village at Baytowne Wharf. It is such a beautiful place with shops, restaurants, and night life! We spend 2 days at the beach and pool, went out to dinner each night (of course) then walked around the village. God was so good to us by making everything fall into place last minute for this time together. Thanks to my friend Tomari for letting me know about this place! We are trying to start a tradition of getting away at least once a yer together. It really does energize you and has brought us closer together. Can't WEIGHT for the next trip. Hopefully next year!

STILL Holding On

I was quite surprised when I got on the scales to see that I am back down to 140 (my lowest weight in 9 years). I am really enjoying my evening walks. Maybe I am burning more fat when I sleep! Still looking forward to at least 5 more pounds then we will see! I have lost a total of 9 - 10 pounds since March 9. I have ALMOST dropped a size and I am very excited about that. Here's what I am working on (still):

1. water
2. exercise
3. eating healthy

I have also been having fun cooking. Never thought I would say that! At the end of June I made a menu plan through July 17. So far I have tried 2 new things and I have a few more to go. I hope to start repeating the receipes and adding at least one new one a month. We'll see!

Remembering The Fallen

I come from a military family (mostly uncles but my father was not in the military) but lately I seem to be so much aware of our dear men and women who serve for our country. They go through so much and I know I will never be able to know exactly how much they go through. All I can say is "thank you from the bottom of my heart".
We need to pray for them and not forget!

I'm Learning
