Fit 4Life Friday

Boy, my legs feel like jelly right now. It has been a pretty good week. I walked 5 miles on Tuesday around Stone Mountain (just about killed us), walked 3 miles today at Tribble Mill Park, and walked one other day in my neighborhood. Now, this was a VERY unusual week and it will probably not happen again so, no, I have not turned into a work out machine-Ha. I have added a DVD called 8 min. abs and I really like it. I will TRY to keep it up!

Start weight: 149 (March 9th)
Lowest weight: 140
Current weight: 144-down 1 pound from last week. :)

Water-doing Ok, anywhere from 24 - 32 oz. a day
Writing down what I eat-not happening.

I'm keeping my same goals.

Fit 4 Life Friday

Some time ago I joined the May Challenge at Tales From the Scales. It's the reason I started this blog. It helped keep me on track and then as soon as July got here everything I was doing went out the window. I saw Fit 4 Life Friday on Michelle's blog at Henderson Highlights (I still can't do links) and since the May Day challenge is over I really wanted to do this. I like the idea of weighing in on Friday. So, here it goes. It's cool outside and I'm ready to get back to walking! Especially since I got on the scales yesterday and I had gained 5 pounds-yuck. I worked so hard for those 5 pounds!! I was so excited in July when I was only 1 pound away from losing 10 pounds. Even with all the fun summer stuff going on I was losing weight or, at least, maintaining, What a difference 2 months, no walking, no water, Disney World trip (doesn't all that walking count for something?) can make! So here it goes. Even though I have been sick this week and right now I still feel "crappy" and keep coughing-I'm ready to go! Here are my goals: 1. Start with 32 oz. of water a day. 2. Write down what I eat. 3. Walk 3 - 4 days a week for 45 minutes. Start weight on March 9th: 149 Lowest weight since March 9th: 140 Current weight: 145 Goal weight: 135 One thing I have learned is that consistency is the key. Going off for a weekend is Ok but not for months! Ha. Hopefully, by next Friday I will have lost 1 pound!

Weight A Minute!

OK, so I started this blog to help keep me accountable for my weight loss. Then I realized that blogging about my day-to-day life was so much better so I changed the name with the intention of still blogging about weight loss. Now that I have 2 children back in school I hope to do better at blogging! Since my last post I was holding on at 140 (my lowest weight in 9 years). Well, how a month changes things. I'm up 3 pounds due to a few days away with my hubbie, and relying on sweet tea and coke (since I am trying to get off the artificial stuff) to get me through the last few weeks. So, I'm back on the 3 W's. Weight Watchers, water, and walking! My goal is a total of 8 more pounds-that includes the 3 I gained! This process is much slower than I had hoped but at least I am making better choices and maybe the weight will stay off.

Weigh In

After a food-filled weekend I am already up the pound I lost! This month has been very up and down for me. So (again) today I started writing down what I eat, walked 30 minutes (new battery in the Jeep-yeah), and am working on my first 16 0z of water. I seem to be stuck at this point where I fluctuate within 2 pounds. My goal: 4 pounds by June 22-we'll see.

I would also like to say a prayer the family of the Fulton County fireman (my husband is a fireman) who lost his life yesterday. It's so easy to forget how dangerous these jobs are and every one of these guys and gals put their life on the line every day! And, of course, for all our troops and family members who have lost someone past or present fighting for our country. Where would we be without them?

1 POUND!!!

I could not believe it when I got on the scales this week to see I had lost 1 pound considering all the craziness lately with Mother's Day, end-of-school stuff, etc... I'm finally making life changes that I LOVE! I still struggle with water (only 16 - 32 oz. a day) and exercise. Since going to the gym is not an option for me I decided to use what God gave me-my neighborhood. So when my daughter's battery stopped working on her barbie jeep (she rides it while I walk) I got very discouraged. I decided to try something new until we can get it fixed. I'm going to run the steps on my front porch. I have about 10 - 12 steps that will give me a pretty good workout. I am going to start tonight! Sure hope I do it and keep it up. So far, I have still lost a total of 8 - 9 pounds since March 9. So what if it's not 9 pounds in 10 days-it's a life change and it's woth WEIGHT-ing for!

Weigh In

I know for a fact there will be no change in the scales for me. I have not started off the May Challenge on a very good start. I am at a point where I have got to start moving more (along with drinking water). Since going to the gym is not an option for me I decided I had to use what God gave me-my neighborhood so when the battery went out in my daughter's barbie jeep (she drives it while I walk) I got very discouraged. I came up with a new idea that I am going to try. I'm going to run my front steps (about 10 - 12) for 10 minutes, 3 times a week if I can make it-Ha. I really hope I can get "the eye of the tiger" back!

Weigh-ing In

Well, I got on the scales today. I was surprised that I had only gained 1 pound after eating out a lot for the past 2 weeks (my trip to KY and my conference). Thank God for Applebees. Their Weight Watchers menu is great. So today I have had 32 oz. of water so far but no exercise. Of course with Mother's Day coming up I will have to watch it!

Have You Lost Weight?

These are the magic words that any woman loves to hear! Someone asked me that yesterday and even though I only have one person reading this right now (thanks, Jodi) I want to write about it to keep me excited and accountable. It have been a crazy week and this morning the scales had crept up a little. Today I leave for a conference so here is my game plan:
Thursday, May 10 I will start:
1. drinking water (if I drink too much at the confernce I will spend the whole time in the bathroom)
2. exercise
3. writing down what I eat
4. start my new blog and get the word out about my blogs to family and friends

So, guess I will be weight-ing to get going on the May challenge a little late but that is what has been so good about weight watchers for me. It works and I can jump right back into it after too much celebration!

I DID IT!!

Wow! I finally did it. I started a blog and there is only one thing that could get me to do it-losing weight. After 3 children and turning 40 I wanted to really change my life by eating healthy and losing weight. Well, I turned 41 in March and finally I have lost about 8 pounds by doing Weight Watchers. I have also been taking vitamins, doing a little bit of exercise (hopefully that will get better), and eating better. I'm really hoping this blog will help. The weight-ing game is all about being patient with losing weight. It takes time. We must wait to see our results! I am tired of hearing about losing a pound a day or 10 pounds in 9 days, or whatever the latest plan is offering. So for now, I will settle with losing slowly, about 1 pound a week, and keeping it off! I'm really excited more about blogging about my life in general. I want to be able to look back and recover those wonderful moments that I have not recorded so far in a journal.
